Energy Use it Wisely

I recently did a lot of research on Solar and other forms of Alternative energy. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share some of it here on my web site. Please enjoy all the fun and facinating resources as well as the practical tips found here.

Saving Energy

There are many ways to save energy but lets look at simple ones that save on Electricity first
First and formost turn off or and in some cases unplug anything you are not using.
Change out outside lights to solar where it can be done
Use energy star products
Buy bulk and share with friends and family
Plant a few plants for food (there are a variety of ways to do this in the garden section of the web stie)
Recycle, Reuse, Restore
Make transportation choices based on fuel economy or set up with electric vehicles if possible.

Stretching your fuel dollars

Best fuel saving tips
Buy your fuel during the coolest part of the day
Speed up and slow down gently
Keep your engine in good running order as in regular oil changes, keeping the engine clean through fuel additives or cleaners, purchasing higher octane fuel
Keep your tires aired up that means when the weather changes checking them or having them checked

Solar Energy

Solar has so many applications I will showcase a few of them
It is well worth looking into your locations tax breaks such as the 30% for business federal one, Utility Company Buydowns, Farm Energy Grants from the department of Agriculture, and the cost of energy ever increasing with fuel prices
Tax breaks ending this year. Your allowed a one time Federal Tax Credit for Solar of up to $2000.00.
There are a number of other tax breaks by County and State
A $1,000 credit for contractors who build or remodel homes to meet federal standards for conserving energy with>
the use of approved components such as high-efficiency windows, insulation, furnaces and water heaters
A 30 percent credit (to a maximum of $2,000) for homeowners who invest in a solar-energy system for generating electricity or heating water
A 30 percent credit (with no cap) for businesses that invest in solar-energy systems
I think this would make it possible to fuel about 60% of our cars with solar especially with the new compressed air engines
