Horse babies have to learn some important lessons.

    Follow mommy where ever she goes.

    Mommy is watching over me.

   One can sleep easy if mommy is near.

   Mommy cast a long shadow.

Mommy means what she says.

   Moms like to play sometimes.

Some of theses are similar to what God teaches us.

  I have watched horses walk out of a dark barn into the light.  It seems to be especially hard on small ones and they have such a puzzled look on their faces as they blink in the sunshine.  Christians feel the same way at times. Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Walk as children of light.

    Mares do a lot of training with their foals.  Some babies are naturally more trouble then others.  Most of the mares I have seen seem to suffer though those tough babies with great skill.  It sometimes seems as though they might never get the job done at times.  In the Bible at least we are promised that when our children are old they will at least not depart from it.   Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.

   Children have some many wonderful characteristics, blind trust, enthusiasm, laughter, joy, faith, curiosity.  Horse babies are very similar.  Matthew 18:3   Jesus said "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
